The Sprayed Strokes effect paints an image in disjointed, sprayed strokes of adjustable length and orientation.
Stroke Length
Move the slider to the right to make the strokes longer and to the left to make the strokes shorter.
Stroke Direction
Choose a direction in which to paint the strokes.
Spray Radius
Move the slider to the right to spray within a wider radius and create more disjointed strokes. Move the slider towards the left to spray within a smaller radius and produce more coherent strokes.
Tips
• Try applying this effect before some of the other effects (such as Dry Brush or Watercolor from Aldus Gallery Effects: Classic Art Volume 1, or the Texturizer) to make the final result even more painterly in style.
• To create the appearance of an object being reflected in a wet and shiny surface:
1. Duplicate the image.
2. Apply the Sprayed Strokes effect to the copy of the image.
3. Reflect the top half of the resulting image vertically onto the bottom half.
4. Darken or tint the color in the resulting image to make it look more like a reflection.
5. Combine the reflected image with objects in the original image by selecting the objects and compositing them onto the reflection image background using the available tools in the host program.
The final result will look as if the objects in the image are reflected in rippled water upside down.
